 California Dreamin’

Today was one of those days that make you glad you live in Southern California: sunny and warm and dry. Motorcycle weather, in other words. So I fired up the Road Star and headed out to get some bugs in my teeth, some wind in my, uh, scalp and some grub in my gut.

  • 101 Freeway north about 20 miles to Kanan Road
  • Kanan Road over and through the Santa Monica Mountains to Pacific Coast Highway.
  • PCH north past Zuma Beach to Neptune’s Net, the best combination seaside seafood/biker destination in Southern California.
  • Breakfast/Lunch: Fish, clams & chips combo basket with a Diet Pepsi while sitting in the sun and checking out all my fellow bikers’ rides.
  • PCH south for about 25 miles through Malibu to Sunset Blvd.
  • Twist and turn down Sunset Blvd to the 405 Freeway along the same route Jeff Bridges raced James Woods Porsche vs Ferrari in Against All Odds.
  • 405 Freeway north to the 101 south to home.

Here’s the route…

…and here’s the ocean view from Neptune’s Net.

94 miles, 4 hours, too many dead bugs to count. All things considered, not a bad way to start the day.

A biker mannabe. What a dork.

  2. Chuck says:

Sigh… It’s true, I am a mannabe. I really need to butch up more.

  3. Carol says:

Yeah, Chuck, you are so effiminate. Hell, I’m more of a man than you are.

Tell the truth, I’m more of a man than one or two of the guys I’ve dated. *sigh*

  4. Chuck says:

    Um… Thanks for your support?

  5. Carol says:

I tease because I love. And I’m in a very odd mood today.

Because you, my dear manly Chuck, are easily three or four times the man I am. You’re so manly that women can sense your testosterone ten miles away and swoon with the very butchiness of you. How Beth is able to handle so much man on a daily basis is beyond me.

    *mwah*

(But seriously, folks… Chuck? He definitely be the man…)

  6. This better not be you, Chuck, or I’ll kick your ass. http://fraudwatch.blogspot.com

  7. Chuck says:

Rob: I’ve already buried the hatchet with you, told you I have no problem with your fundraising and that I’d be doing it too if I were you. So, no, that ain’t me.

  8. Chuck says:

Well, hmmm… Further investigation unearths the stink of a Canuck amuck. Rob, if that was really you, then you’re an idiot because the answer is right there on the page and is glaringly obvious. If it wasn’t you, then I’m an idiot for taking the bait in the first place.

  9. Rob says:

I’m seeing this now for the first time, so no, that wasn’t me above. Dave Vanderyl’s got way too much free time.
