Don’t let the door hit you…
Ya know, I didn’t expect a world-wide spasm of loss and pain when I announced that I was ending the ‘stake after 5 years with a readership that numbered in the hundreds at one point, but I thought there might be some reaction. You know, maybe a couple of emails from people saying “we’ll miss you,” or a couple of RIP-style link-backs. Some kind of reaction.
Apparently not.
One person reached out. One. So, thanks Deb for saying “bye-bye.” As for the rest of you mooks… Well, thanks for letting me know where I stand, I guess. The ol’ ego’s been appropriately deflated.
Hey Chuck – at least you didn’t desert us totally … I’m not the worlds biggest blog fan, but it’s nice that you’re still around. So you’re one of the special few I’m keeping an eye on :)

Well, I admit I totally suck because I hadn’t noticed you’d ended the ‘stake, but since I’ve been reading very few of my old favorite journals for a very long time (silly life taking me away from what’s important! Or something.), you’ll be happy (or not) to know that it’s not just you.
Anyway, glad you’ve at least got the ‘blog going, it’s better than nothing!
I’m glad that you continued your blog here. I just recently found Chuckstake and was bummed when I saw it ended in 2002, then followed your “forward” button and found you again. Huzzah! From the little I have read, I have really enjoyed it. Thanks! :)
