NSR #9 ais here, complete with a really too long, poorly produced “Sounds of Houston” segment in answer to El Guapo‘s recurring question “What does it sound like there?” every time Chuck posts a blog entry about being on the road. Beth was so bored by it that it killed her enthusiasm to podcast and she forgot what she wanted to talk about and didn’t care that she forgot. Lesson learned: Beth must have final cut on everything Chuck puts together for the podcast.

Tonight’s topics…

Yet another entry for the “lost episode” file — we recorded half this show before we realized it had stopped recording 49 seconds in, making this really NSR #9.5
An appearance by our daughter Zoe, who was supposed to be asleep hours ago but instead talks about her planned Halloween decorations.
JournalCon
Chuck’s blog’s The View From Here series of pictures from hotel room windows and its possible eligibility for an Ig Nobel Award.
Beth has finally started listening to other podcasts.
The Love Ride
What makes a good podcast? Beth says “slice of life.”
Chuck’s new favorite podcast: The PK and J Show
The Sounds of Houston.
Pappadeaux — you can’t get there from here.
Beth invited her mom for Thanksgiving.
Watching the mid-air collision scene from Fight Club on an airplane.
Chuck was the big winner at poker with four sevens.
Beth’s complete willingness to throw Chuck under the bus at any point in the conversation.
Beth almost cries as Chuck plays us out with Tim McGraw’s She’s My Kind of Rain

Give a listen to the Sounds of Houston.

Thanks for the mention Chuck. Loved the intelligence and the humor–you reminded me of a topic I can get a lot of material out of —poker.
